Nelvana Enterprises Division has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager Home Entertainment and Digital Media at our Toronto location. Reporting to and supporting the VP Worldwide Home Entertainment for managing the day-to-day aspects of the Home Entertainment and Digital business.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Revenue Generation/Customer Management:

a) Manage the following day-to-day aspects of the Canadian Home Entertainment business, focusing on three core brands: Treehouse Presents; Teletoon Presents; YTV on DVD (2006 revenue: $1.2M CDN)

i. Strategic pricing, release schedule timing, retail distributions, cross promotions and all marketing elements
ii. Implement all broadcast support plans with Corus TV inclusive of billboard creation, stunt event planning, web support and newsletter commentary
iii. Create and manage the work-flow critical path to ensure all elements of deliverables arrive on time
iv. Indirectly manage the Digital Media Technician to ensure all DVD authoring and menuing is completed accurately and on-time
v. Work closely with Art Director in managing Creative Designer's work load scheduling
vi. Manage the creative development and work-flow of all DVD packaging elements
vii. Manage customer invoicing for services rendered
viii. Liaise with "Rights Holders" to ensure timely product/creative approvals
ix. Maintain annual release schedule inclusive of sales tracking
x. Provide revenue projections quarterly
xi. Evaluate new shows under consideration for DVD release under key brands; forecast sales to determine commercial viability
xii. Release planning documentation:
. Episode selection, text for DVD menus, legal lines
. Obtain French translations for English text
. Obtaining UPC codes

b) Manage global Home Entertainment Partners (2006 revenue $4.0M CDN)

i. Provide "best in class" key account management for key licensees in global markets
. Australia
. US
. UK
. France
. Germany
. Latin America
ii. Despite time zone challenges, assist partners in developing and maintaining aggressive release schedules
iii. Provide on-going support for global marketing and promotional elements
iv. Share/communicate successful campaigns with all licensees
v. Provide quick approval turn-around for packaging, trade ads and media spends
vi. Track and document international sales and follow-up on royalty reporting
vii. Provide required materials support:
. Broadcast ratings & timing
. Marketing and licensing launch plans and timing
. Art work, sell sheets, trailers
viii. Co-ordinate custom artwork if required
ix. Ensure packaging compliance
. Approval of artwork
. Legal lines/copyright

c) Negotiate licensing deals

i. Pitch new shows and negotiate licensing deals in secondary countries
ii. Implement internal processes, including sales advices and revenue forecasting
iii. Liaise with Business Affairs to ensure timely contract execution


2. People Management

a) Direct Management

i. Directly manage the Coordinator - Home Entertainment
. Ensure 48 hour approvals benchmark is maintained
. Provide creative consultation when necessary
. Assist in managing work-flow
. Mentor and develop

b) Indirect Management

i. Indirectly manage the Digital Media Technician
. Manage work-flow and ensure critical path is maintained
. Provide creative guidance with respect to menuing and authoring of DVDs
. Minimize production costs
ii. Indirectly manage Creative Artist
. Manage work-flow and ensure critical path is maintained
. Provide creative guidance and feedback regarding cover art and labels
iii. Maintain a strong relationship between all 3 departments - Home Entertainment, Distribution, and Creative
. Ensure everyone is kept in the loop of changes in the schedules, delays, and priorities are clear


3. Digital Media
a) Explore global digital media opportunities
b) Work with digital media partners on global initiatives


4. Other Responsibilities

a) Effectively manage and work with various internal contacts, including contract managers, rights clearance analysts, finance and accounting personnel, creative and graphic designers, marketing and licensing personnel
b) Assist in developing annual business plan and forecasting
c) Provide guidance to Corus and Nelvana Public Relations representatives regarding internal and external communications initiatives
d) Strategize and co-ordinate materials for key trade shows and markets
e) Chair Canadian distribution planning meetings
f) Be known and the "Operational Liaison" for key studio partners
g) Assist in evaluating new properties to acquire and distribute


REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
. A strong attention to detail and a keen sense of urgency
. Results oriented
. Strong communication skills in dealing with internal and external clients
. Excellent computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
