THE OPPORTUNITY:
A national retail chain seeks a highly skilled and motivated Store Manager to join its growing team in the Gander area.
If you are a natural team leader and passionate about retail, then this may be the opportunity you have been looking for.
To qualify, you will need a successful track record growing retail sales and minimum several years store management experience preferably in a hard goods retail environment including drug, grocery, convenience, department stores and box stores.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your challenge is to keep the store "ready for business" during all business hours. Ensure you have the coverage to keep your service levels 100% and the systems and procedures in place to deliver full shelves and customer satisfaction.
Staffing, that is hiring and firing, training and development of staff will be a key focus. Your objective is to grow profitable sales and build a strong consumer franchise in your trading area.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in staffing - hiring, performance evaluation and monitoring.
Experience training and developing staff.
Success as a leader, motivator and team builder.
Experience dealing with inventory - cycle counts, loss prevention, etc.
Hands on - roll up the sleeves mentality. Lead by example.
A background in hard goods merchandising - grocery, drug, home fashion, department store - an advantage.
Must be well organized.
Passionate about growing sales and running an efficient and profitable operation.
Post secondary education - preferably a college diploma in business.
COMPENSATION:
Salary commensurate with experience.
