We are currently recruiting for a Underwriting assistant for our St-John, NB location.
Job Summary
Working in a team environment, this position will provide underwriting assistance and administrative support to the a team of Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriters.
Job Responsibilities: What would I do on the job?
Issue New Business and Renewal policy documents under the direction of an Underwriter.Process a variety of policy change requests including cancellations, certificates and endorsements.
Sort incoming mail and faxes for the underwriters.
Log and conduct routine checks on incoming quotes for the underwriters.Gather information and reports for the underwriters. (Previous insurers, Creditel, CGI Rates and Inspections, check mapping and conduct Internet searches).
Provide backup Switchboard Relief if necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Skills required: Do I have what it takes?
Secondary school
Community college
Working towards CIP designation
1 year of Commercial Underwring Assistant experience.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
Strong written & oral communication and organizational skills.
Excellent computer skills and data entry proficiency
1 year + of Commercial Underwriting Assistant Experience.
Good working knowledge of RTM, Word, Excel Spreadsheets
