Your accountabilities will be:
Reporting to the Associate Director, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring system administration and maintenance of a multifunction center including development, preproduction and recovery environments, involving the following activities:

HPUX & Linux server administration
SAN administration
DataDomain administration
Backup administration
Network administration
Inventory Management
Incident handling, troubleshooting
Participation to the disaster recovery planning (recovery testing)
Technical and relavant project documentation
Etc.

Your accountabilities will be:

1. Ensures swift and complete resolution of problems assigned to him. Identifies tasks requiring automation and automates them. Analyzes and maintains system performance.

2. Liaises with clients when managing system failures and change requests.

3. Configures systems according to industry standards and best practices. Produces and revises system documentation.

4. Supervises the operation of each network component to optimize server performance. Analyzes any problems that are detected. Diagnoses the situation, assesses the consequences, takes the necessary measures and ensures follow-up.

5. Acts as technical consultant to various internal and external Bell stakeholders.

6. Produces the technical documentation needed to manage the server environments, adhering to stringent service quality standards. Helps implement the best practices in terms of system administration.

7. Keeps his technical skills up to date to ensure quality service for Bell's internal and external clients.

8. Is available for on-call duty according to a pre-established schedule.

Your qualifications/ competencies are:
. Undergraduate degree in computer science or the equivalent (BAC or DEC)
. Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in system administration in a production environment
. In-depth knowledge of networking and security concepts
. Excellent knowledge of one or more operating systems (OS) such as HP-UX (asset), AIX, Linux RedHat, Windows, etc.
. Knowledge of ITIL Framework
. In-depth knowledge of one or more backup software programs such as Veritas NetBackup (required), Backupexec.
. Knowledge of the management of SAN environments and magnetic tape librairies
. Strong French documentation writing skills
. Bilingualism
