IT SECURITY OFFICER
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES
Applications are invited for the position of IT Security Officer.
Working with the Information Technology Services Management Team, the IT Security Officer is responsible for the recommendation, development and implementation/coordination of the College's information technology security policies and efforts. The IT Security Officer will provide leadership and expert advice to ITS Management, ITS Staff and the College Business Unit Managers; lead Security Risk Assessments and continually monitor the college IT security infrastructure; research, test, and recommend new security methodologies; act as liaison between Enterprise System Services and Infrastructure and Network Services; and investigate/resolve security issues and interaction/performance of servers, services, applications and the networks.
An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is required with a minimum of 7 years progressive related experience in computing and information security within a large corporate/enterprise network. A 3 year applicable diploma with proper related experience will also be considered. Applicants will also have experience in business continuity planning, auditing, risk management, vendor/contract negotiation, and security information as well as experience in performance monitoring and management. Skills in internal and external liaison/relationship building, senior IT project management, negotiation, diplomacy and communication are also required.
Experience with IPE/IPS, IDS, Large scale wireless networks, large scale(>3000 node) network infrastructure including VoIP and CISSP or equivalent accredited security certification would be an asset.
