THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Head of People Development is a new role that provides leadership to teams in the HR disciplines of learning, professional development, performance management and total rewards. This role will oversee the integration of resources in the Development component of HR to support business performance nationwide. The successful candidate will have a tremendous opportunity to shape and lead this integrated, national learning and development strategy.
The Head of People Development will report to the Partner who is Chief Human Resource Officer.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Serve as KPMG's primary learning & development professional for its functions and practices. Ensure a high level of professionalism in all learning initiatives developed and implemented at the practice or national level.
· Delivery of KPMG's competitive total rewards programs which provide value to employees and support's a performance driven culture. Mandate includes oversight of reward systems, pension, benefits and aligned policies and practices that result in attracting, motivating and retaining top talent.
· Create a framework for KPMG University as a vehicle to deliver scalable, non-technical learning and development to all members of the firm, nation wide.
· Develop an integrated learning strategy through collaboration with diverse functional groups across KPMG. Components of the strategy will include curriculum / program development and design for all core and generic L&D offerings.
· Provide thought leadership in the selection / development of learning & performance measurement technologies, resourcing, delivery options, templates and frameworks.
· In collaboration with KPMG leadership, the partnership and other key stakeholders, meet targets on strategy implementation and activities. Develop key milestones and timelines for reporting and evaluation of progress.
· Ensure peak performance of the people development organization against established business objectives and their ability to work effectively across the organization.

THE SKILLS & BEHAVIOURS:
The Head of People Development will be an established Human Resources professional with substantial leadership experience and significant L&D exposure in a large, multinational organization. The successful candidate will possess the following skills and behaviors:
· A demonstrated track record of developing and implementing complex, strategic initiatives within a professional environment. An understanding of the decision-making process in Partnership environments is preferred.
· Experience building and developing a central learning, performance management and development function.
· Demonstrated success and passion as the "champion" for the utilization of learning and development initiatives to drive business growth and success.
· Success in managing large-scale project implementations across country and cultural boundaries.
