Financial Analyst - Oil & Gas
My client, a leading energy corporation, is seeking a Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the preparation, analysis and interpretation of financial information. This position is a key role to ensure reliable, accurate and supportable information is included in our internal/ external reporting for key stakeholders, both internal and external.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with the preparation of internal consolidated financial statement
· Assist in the preparation of monthly internal financial reporting and coordination of the financial reporting package
· Prepare various month end journal entries, accruals and intercompany elimination transactions
· Assist with month end close process
· Review detailed balance sheet/income statement accounts to ensure accuracy
· Provide assistance to external auditors
· Provide support and analysis to Senior Management as requested
· Various ad-hoc analyses and special projects
Key Qualifications:
· A professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or near completion
· Strong analytical skills which emphasize a desire to understand "why?"
· Strong MS Excel and SAP knowledge
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Self-motivation, independence, team skills and a positive working attitude.
· Experience in an oil & gas operational/financial accounting role.
· Pride in quality and the ability to work under stress in an environment with several deadlines.
