Wireless Modem Test Specialist (#18287)
"Conduct the execution of test plans pertaining to one or more of the following areas:
. IP network and connectivity services;
. RF conformance and protocol (CDMA, WCDMA, iDEN);
. Roaming: WCDMA (PLMN system selection), CDMA2000 (System Determination) support;
. SMS, OTASP, Bluetooth, IP, Video Telephony support;
. USIM (WCDMA)
Develop and evolve the test plans pertaining to the companys' terminals;
Support the development, management and maintenance of roaming lists;
Support the investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of handset/terminal issues;
Contribute to the development and evolution of testing methodologies - execution, verification/validation, reporting (e.g. automation, centralized issue management);
Contribute to the development and evolution of the processes and procedures required to integrate with multiple functional groups;
Stay current with testing methodologies and standards relating to the wireless industry;
Assess and prepare test materials relating to new technologies identified as necessary for implementing new service offerings proposed by the company;
Operate computers, servers, test equipment, diagnosis software and test automation software, as applicable to the execution of the test plans and methodologies.
Operate, calibrate and maintain the lab equipment and tools;
Setup the lab test equipment according with new specifications, including the development of new test scripts.

"University degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Telecommunications;
Excellent understanding of current wireless data/messaging applications, including but not limited to, CDMA2000 (1x-EVDO), WCDMA (HSPA), SMS, IOTA, OTASP, Bluetooth®, IP connectivity;
Good understanding of client/server technologies;
Excellent software and network troubleshooting techniques and skills;
Strong understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols (e.g., HTTP, UDP, SMTP, POP3);
Experience with wireless network emulators (Agilent, Aeroflex, Anritsu, Rohde & Schwarz);
Experience automating test cases using Visual Basic .NET, Visual C++, National Instruments Visa, GPIB and/or Spirent Communications' UTS considered highly beneficial;
Experience with calibration and operation of wireless network emulators - CDMA2000 (1x-EVDO) & WCDMA (HSPA);
Hands-on experience with
CDMA Spirent Test Platforms (Taskit C2K / PLTS, Test drive EVDO) and Agilent Test Manager;
HSPA Rohde & Schwarz Test Platforms (TS895xW, CRTU-W) and Comprion IT3;
Knowledge of related standards
. 1x-EVDO (3GPP2): C.S0011, C.S0031, C.S0033, C.S0073, C.S0056, CCF specifications;
. WCDMA (HSPA) (3GPP): 34.121, 34.123, 26.132, 31.121, 31.124;
Ability to build Visual Basic Scripts using Spirent API;
Excellent multitasking skills for participating in concurrent projects in a cross-functional team environment;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in the area of technical writing;
Experience in working with terminal and/or infrastructure vendors highly desired
Desire to learn and work in a continuously fast-changing environment;
Well-organized and detailed-oriented person;
Self-motivated, challenge-driven individual."
