Position: Coordinator, Halton Early Intervention in Psychosis Program
Partner Organizations: Halton Healthcare Services, Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, North Halton Mental Health Clinic, Halton-Peel Schizophrenia Society of Ontario, and Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Assessment Prevention and Treatment Services (ADAPT)
Office Location: The Coordinator will work from each of the partner organizations locations on a rotating basis.
Status: Part-Time .6 FTE (3 days per week). Flexible to meet program needs.
Hours: Monday to Friday, primarily days. Must be available to attend early morning and evening meetings as needed.
Responsibilities:
The Coordinator is responsible for providing a leadership role in the coordination of the Early Intervention Program (EIP). The EIP operates across the Halton Region using a hub-and spoke model of service delivery. The Coordinator will collaborate with staff at all three clinical sites (Halton Healthcare Services, Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, and North Halton Mental Health Clinic) and staff from the Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Assessment Prevention and Treatment Services (ADAPT) and the Halton-Peel Schizophrenia Society of Ontario to facilitate the establishment of best practices, integrated services, and continuity for the program as a whole. This includes providing consultative support and education to staff regarding EIP as well as establishing consensus with EIP partners regarding clinical program development, research linkages, and quality assurance measures. The Coordinator will facilitate regular program committee meetings including acting as an advisor and liaison between the management and clinical care committees.
Qualifications:
· Master Prepared, i.e. MSW, MA, MSc required
· Current registration with the appropriate professional College in Ontario, or eligible for registration/ membership required
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical community or hospital psychiatric settings required
· Demonstrated ability to develop program policy criteria/framework and related standardized documents and approaches that support excellence in client care and draw on the current research and best practices required
· Previous experience in collecting and interpreting data and identifying activity, trends, pressures, and issues required
· Thorough knowledge of schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses required
· Program development experience, particularly in clinical settings, including budget development and monitoring and experience with recruitment, training/ development and performance management preferred
· Public relations experience preferred
· Strong interpersonal, communication, staff development and team leadership skills
· Proven effectiveness in collaborating with a range of community services and partners
· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
· Must be willing to work from each of the partner sites and able to travel throughout the Region of Halton
· Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
