Position: Audiologist

Site: Branson

Department: Audiology

Reports To: Clinical Coordinator X-ray/Mammography/ENT & Audiology

Hours: 1.0 FTE, days, 8 hour shifts

Status: Full Time Temporary - Approximately 1 year

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide effective and efficient patient care for individuals presented with hearing disorders and perform a variety of Audiological testing and treatment as per department needs. All roles are essential in providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and others by ensuring that health and safety policies are followed.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited Audiology Masters Program or equivalent.

  • Registration with Eligible College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario. New graduates who are eligible for registration in the immediate future are welcome to apply.

  • Experience with a paediatric population preferred.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Current knowledge of a wide range of audiological disorders.

  • Demonstrated clinical and aural (re) habilitative experience.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.

  • Strong proficiency with basic hearing test battery for all ages.

  • Knowledge of auditory brainstem testing and otoacoustic emissions.

  • Ability to work with children and infants a necessity.

  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset.

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides patient care in accordance with Hospital and professional standards and ethics.

  • Provides identification, assessment, interpretation, diagnosis, management and education to referred patients.

  • Works within a multidisciplinary framework.
