THE OPPORTUNITY:
KPMG Edmonton is currently looking for a Practice Coordinator who will provide a high level of proactive support to the Business Unit Leader and assist them in managing their business. The successful candidate will be able to support partners with complex organizational responsibilities and will be able to effectively handle direct client communication on behalf of the BUL/Practice Leader/OMP.
Responsible for the following:

People Leader Support
-
Provide administrative support for PL : organize meetings, learning events, events and celebrations in the area of local recognition plan, prepare meeting handouts, take minutes, highlight action items, and ensure deadlines met prior to next, including support in annual compensation process

Support PLs with various projects and programs as required

Maintain an up-to-date assignment of performance managers and People Leaders and make sure that list is current with National HR

Onboarding Support - Coordinate all Onboarding for business

Employee transactions - Liaise with HRST/ERS to process paper work for new hires, terminations and changes and coordinate office spaces and set up for new hires and transfers

May act as local recruiting co-coordinator in location/office where such a position does not exist to connect with both campus and experienced hire recruiting

Local Policies - Be expert in local policies, KPMG (national and local) CMA and CGA support policies to students, respond to student inquiries regarding the process for CA, CGA, CMA fee processing, act as local office contact with provincial CA Education body, support of local CA Education/UFE Coordinator

Learning Support - Be knowledgeable of CLIX system and be able to respond to local BU/office queries regarding the access and use of CLiX and as applicable, connect with the National CLiX team regarding CLiX system updates and related training sessions including analyze CLiX registration, run CLiX reports. Prepare for learning leader and BUL review the annual learning budget

Business Continuity
-
Maintain and update the Practice/Group Business Continuity Plan documentation, contact lists and test logs

Participate in scheduled testing of local or office Business Continuity Plan

Assist the practice unit or local office in times of crisis
-
Act as liaison between own office and other parts of regional cluster or larger practice units
-
Deliver one on one training on Firm procedures/processes to new hires, secondments and transfers

Event Coordination -
-
Act as Event Creator for all significant events by using Global Event Management system and work with Event Management team in coordinating Events/Functions for the function/practice.

Plan and execute local office events not supported by Event Management

Ensure timely submission of time and expense reporting
-
Database Management for client(s).

Manage Distribution lists
-
Manage the billing and collection process for engagement

Liaison with finance to ensure proper allocation of expenses

THE SKILLS & BEHAVIOURS:
A successful candidate will possess the following skills and behaviours:

College diploma or an equivalent combination of education/experience in administrative assistant skill set.

A minimum of 5 years experience in a Sr. Administrative role
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills
-
Understand the business and market context for KPMG's lines of business.
-
Require general project management skills for small scale initiatives. Analytical skills and good judgment regarding variance identification, gap analysis, spotting trends and the ability to differentiate what to take action on directly and what needs to escalate up to leaders.

Take initiative and solves problems ahead of time

Excellent Client Service Skills
-
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
