TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS & DESIGNERS for a Calgary based opportunity to work in an EPC/M environment on Industrial Engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Providing structural design and technical support including calculations, weld design, design drawing review, field investigations, and solutions for the construction or repair of industrial buildings, facilities, and services
- Writing specifications and contract documents
- Reviewing project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy
- Developing and maintaining positive, sustainable client relationships by coordinating and working with project team members
Qualifications:
- Diploma, Undergraduate, or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in structural design
- Broad scope knowledge of civil designs and an understanding of industry codes, standards, and construction methods
- Material design experience, which may include experience in the use of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and/or wood
- Minimum 10 years experience working on mining and/or heavy industrial projects is an asset
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage a team of Engineers and Designers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
