Job Duties and Responsibilities:
GUI design/redesign for intranet based mission critical financial J2EE, Java / web based application. Collaborate with Business Analysts, technical analysts and clients to deliver an effective graphical user interface for the various products. Preparation of the designs, related design/specifications documents. Defining standards and frameworks for current and future GUIs. Creation of test plans and participation in quality assurance.
Required Work Experience:
At least 3 years experience in Web/Interface design and delivery in a production environment
Required Level of Education:
A diploma from a post-secondary education relating to job duties or related experience.
Soft Skills:
-Excellent, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
-A motivated self-starter, with the ability to perform in a fast paced, team environment, with multiple tasks, deadlines and changing priorities. Strong analytical skills and creative thinking.
« Must Have » Technical Skills:
-Solid understanding and working application of GUI design standards, and information management standards, best practices and concepts.
-Experience designing user interfaces, creating navigation structures, and integrating web content in an intranet environment including experience with portals, directory services, collaborative applications, and search systems
-Business process analysis skills, including ability to analyze work processes and recommend changes to leverage technologies, gain efficiency and provide for advanced usability
-Working knowledge of Visio and Microsoft Office applications required. Familiarity with PHP, HTML CSS, DHTML,XML, Javascript, Dream weaver, and Macromedia Director and Photoshop
-Strong analytical and process-oriented problem-solving skills

« Nice to Have » Technical Skills:
-Familiar with technologies utilized in the development of the Web based applications including, Java, J2EE, MVC, CVS, Web servers, relational databases, and SDLC.
-Experience working with financial applications.
