Our client is seeking a District Engineer to join their management team full-time.
Interacting extensively with both project staff and clients, the District Engineer will play a vital role in our operations. As a valued contributor, you will offer technical support and project management skills to ensure that our client continues to offer quality workmanship which exceeds the expectations of clients.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Preparing costs analysis & project cost controls
- Project tendering & estimating
- Preparing and reviewing budgets
- Coordinating client meetings and monthly billings
- Scheduling project staff & equipment resources
- Reviewing and negotiating change orders
- Ensuring conformance to quality management systems
- Managing project deliverables
- Preparing Expressions of Interest and Pre-Qualifications
- Promoting a safe and healthy work environment
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, 5-10 years of management experience as well as on-site/field experience. In addition, a thorough knowledge of concrete structures, hydro development, earthmoving and grading is required. You should be familiar with the Newfoundland & Labrador Safety Act and Regulations as well as have a keen appreciation for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. The ability to multitask and prioritize, along with being detail oriented and accurate, having a strong work ethic, strong organizational skills and personal initiative are mandatory. While not essential, the ability to communicate in French would be considered an asset.
