[Infographic] The secret formula for the perfect resume?
Our friends over at ZipRecruiter think they have found the hidden formula for a creating the perfect resume. They have a database of about three million resumes, and employers who look through it for candidates have the option of rating resumes on a scale of one to five stars.
They had their data team analyse what the one star resumes had in common, and what were the similarities of the five star resumes. The results reveal the keywords, resume length and sections that top-rated resumes have as well as the weaker elements to avoid at all costs.
It turns out that resumes that are between 600 and 700 words in length are ranked higher by employers than ones that are either shorter or longer. This infographic neatly summarizes their key findings.
