Attention job seekers: Access job postings on your wireless device, thanks to a new agreement between Rogers Wireless and Workopolis

Rogers Wireless and Fido customers can browse Workopolis job postings for FREE from their wireless device’s WAP deck until May 31

Toronto, Ontario, March 26, 2009- There’s no doubt that the job market is ever-changing. Rogers Wireless, the country’s largest wireless provider, and Workopolis, Canada’s leading online career-solutions provider, understand that job hunting can be tough in these challenging times. As such, the two companies have teamed up to make the process of looking for a job a little easier. Through a new agreement with Workopolis, Rogers Wireless and Fido customers are able to search for job postings directly on their wireless device via Workopolis’ made-for-mobile website, available for free until May 31, 2009.

“As Canada’s largest wireless provider, Rogers Wireless is committed to continuing to bring Canadians innovative services and products that add value to their lives,” said John Boynton, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Wireless. “The wireless device can be an indispensable tool to the increasing number of Canadians who are seeking work. Not only can they be available for calls from potential employers, they can now browse jobs from Workopolis directly on their handsets, for free until May 31, when they’re out and about.”

“We understand that job seekers can’t always be at their computers and that’s why Workopolis was the first job site in Canada to go mobile last November,” said Max Tremblay, Vice President of Marketing, Workopolis.  “We wanted to provide job seekers the opportunity to access our job postings when, where and how they want to.  Helping to connect Canadians to their next career will be that much easier with Rogers Wireless on board as our partner.”

Rogers Wireless and Fido customers can search for job postings from Workopolis by accessing the mobile web on their handset. Job seekers simply need to go to the Rogers Mall or Fido Shop icon on their mobile device, and then select the “News, Sports & More” category. They can instantly search all of the jobs available on the Workopolis main site – but with the convenience of doing so on the move. Data fees will not be charged during the limited time period.
