Our
client, a leader in the design and assembly of specialized instrumentation
and controls for demanding, nuclear environments, has an exciting new career
opportunity for an exceptional mechanical/ metallurgical Technician to join
their team of professionals.
Your primary
responsibilities will include:
Perform
design, research, inspection, testing and other engineering tasks under minimal
supervision. Explore various approaches
to complex engineering problems and apply solutions.
- Assist engineers in the
development of schematics, engineering models, experimental prototypes or
test set ups, working from sketches, rough outlines or verbal instructions
and making required engineering calculations.
- Design, prove and commission
into manufacturing new and updated processes, including cost effective
fixturing.
- Specify and order test
equipment.
- Design sophisticated jigs and
fixtures for use in assembly and the testing of assemblies, sub
assemblies, components, materials, etc.
Assist in the design of product components.
- Prepare engineering progress
report data on development contracts and present for review.
- Train production personnel in
new processes and procedures.
- Perform related duties as
assigned.
Successful
candidates will possess the following key skills and attributes:
- three to five years industry
experience
- experience developing product
assembly processes and implementation of process improvements
- knowledge and experience with
common test methodologies including FMEA
- Engineering Degree or OSCETT
certified technologist in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or
Metallurgical engineering
