My client is a top mid-sized General Contractor and looking to bring on the next team member to achieve personal and team goals. With an extensive project list ranging in mid-sized institutional and commercial projects, they have proven and will continue to impress, setting the standards time and time again.
This is an amazing opportunity for a talented and experienced M&E Coordinator that has project exposure with contracts, shop drawings, changes orders, and progress claims on diverse and exciting construction projects. This position requires a mature, experienced construction professional possessing well-developed people and project management skills and sound business judgment. He/she has a demonstrable record of success on aquatic centre projects with strong leadership and management skills and effective decision-making capabilities.
The successful candidate will be a university graduate in engineering. He/she will have a minimum of 8 years of "hands-on" experience in a similar capacity.
Responsibilities
The Mechanical Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing information flow to the project team (contracts, shop drawings, contract changes, and progress claims). This role involves ensuring the project complies with standards, codes, specifications and design instructions, and assisting in the procurement of materials and equipment.
In collaboration with the project manager and superintendent, the M&E Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the overall work of the different mechanical and electrical specialties.
More specifically, the M&E Coordinator will:
- Liaison with project designers to plan and coordinate the design of the Mechanical and Electrical System
- Establish and update schedule timelines with trade contractors
- Inspect and monitor the installation of work with trade contractors
- Meet the standard of Mechanical and Electrical workmanship as required by the contract documents and specifications
- Coordinate change management
- Lead the commissioning phase of the project
- Ensure compliance with all Environmental regulations and policies
- Promote the best interests of the Company
- Liaison with trade contractors
- Coordinate material deliveries and site labor
- Proactively, identify, address, and resolve issues/problems as or before they occur
- Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with client members, consultants and sub-trades
- Ensure project health, safety and environmental standards meet or exceed legislated requirements and company policy
- Project administration including pricing change orders, tracking requests for information and review of shop drawings
