Electrical Designer/Drafter - Int/Sr (#26100)MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
??? Perform general electrical drafting including single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, motor control schematics, electrical heat tracing ISOs, schematics, and installation details with minimal guidance from others
??? Coordinate the creation and compilation of drawing packages including indexes, schedules, and drawings
??? Perform various electrical design calculations including voltage drop, cable tray loading, lighting, and heat tracing
??? Perform detailed 3D modeling of electrical and instrumentation components and work with other disciplines to resolve conflicts and clashes
??? Planning and layouts for major installations
??? Prepare construction man-hour estimates and material take-offs
??? Within established limits exercise independent judgment in the planning, organization, and communication
??? Coordinate design activities with other disciplines and departments
??? Review engineering drawings from vendors and other disciplines to ensure compliance with requisitions and project specifications
??? Contact equipment suppliers and specialists to obtain technical information
??? Work with others to plan, budget, and schedule CADD deliverables with the discipline
??? Attend model reviews
??? Produce complicated drawings and charts in a specialized field, involving planning, layout, bill of materials, etc. for major installations
??? Design and detail new components from previous designs based on engineering instructions, government, and regulatory codes
??? Provide support for and coordinate with field personnel during construction
??? Conduct field visits and prepare as-built drawings
??? Check work of and assist in training of less experienced drafting personnel
??? Report progress of work assignment to immediate supervisor
??? Function as a participant on a special assignment; (i.e.: temporary assignment to work for estimating, proposals etc. to broaden experience base)
??? Attend project coordination meetings
??? Adhere to procedures issued by company or client
??? Ensure consistency and integrity of design throughout the project
??? Ensure that all discipline deliverables are checked and verified
EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:
??? Previous experience in Oil & Gas facilities such as: heavy oil facilities, well tie-ins, pipelines, compressor stations, and field gas processing facilities would be an asset
??? Experienced with various electrical codes and standards (i.e. CSA, IEEE, API)
??? Proficient with AutoCAD 2008
??? Proficient in 3D modeling (Bentley AutoPlant)
??? Experience in the preparation of key electrical drawings and documentation such as area classification drawings, single line diagrams, and load lists
??? Experience in the preparation of key electrical documentation such as area classifications, fugitive emissions studies, single line diagrams, and load lists, and various electrical design calculations
