IT Security Manager

Our client, located in downtown Toronto, is looking for an experienced, IT Security focused individual to help lead and shape their team for years to come. This is truly an exciting opportunity that will give you the autonomy to make a lasting impression!

Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties

Provide IT security advice and counsel to IT, Legal, HR, and Security management worldwide
Develop yearly plans for security enhancement projects
Enhance existing security documentation to provide IT professionals and the business with clear direction on security practices and procedures
Raise awareness of security in IT and across the business
Work with project teams across the business to identify and capture security requirements for new systems and applications
Review system configurations and application architecture for security issues
Support technology procurement through vendor discussions and contract review
Perform both periodic and on demand risk assessments of sites and technologies
Assist server, networking, application, and client service teams to deploy systems in a secure manner
Assist in incident response and forensic analysis to support investigations or litigation
Provide regular reporting to IT senior management on the state and performance of the IT Security operations

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

Previous experience with operating system and networking security, incident response, malware management, vulnerability management, application security, process analysis and engineering, policies and governance experience preferred.
An undergraduate degree in computer science, business or engineering
5 - 10 years' experience in a similar role in information security management and/or related functions (such as IT audit and IT Risk Management)
Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Experience successfully managing external vendors
Prior experience in a mid to large tier organisation preferably within global context
A CISSP, SANS GIAC or equivalent designation is preferred but not required
Additional languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, etc.) is preferred
