Our client is searching an Inventory Manager for their Edmonton Operations. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with excellent communication skills, and strong team building abilities. They need someone who is able to interpret and draw conclusions from financial information, and be able to build on a thorough working knowledge of Materials Management principles and inventory control industry standards. The successful candidate will proactively work with key stakeholders in other functional groups to execute current deliverables and articulate a strategic vision for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
??? Document current processes and develop optimal Standard Operating Procedures
??? Oversee weekly/daily inventory reporting compliance
??? Ensure that master files are set up to align control points with desired business goals
??? Identify potential audit opportunities within the process
??? Analyze financial variances/anomalies to determine the root cause, and recommend/implement corrective measures
??? Review outstanding outside purchase receipts and follow up with receiving DC and depots to complete transactions
??? Develop and refine processes to strengthen product movement control
??? Follow up on compliance issues and implement corrective actions
??? Coach and train employees at various sites to improve inventory policy compliance
??? Work with key stakeholders in other functional groups including Food Service, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to continuously improve processes
??? Coordinate with Sales and Field Sales groups regarding policies on ???safety stock??? in distribution centers and depots, product sourcing, order lead times, franchisee compliance, and credit reduction opportunities
??? Support Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams on system and supply-related issues, and provide feedback on process gaps with recommended control measures
??? Responsible for the Control Plan for Inventory Waste and setting governance around inventory controls stemming from National standards
??? Project work as required.
Hiring Criteria:
??? Proven leadership in a Materials Management and Inventory Control role, with demonstrated strong communication and team building skills
??? Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving experience; able to critically analyze financial information
??? Ability to operate from a process perspective, understanding how activities inter-relate
??? Thorough working knowledge of warehouse management systems and practical application, ideally in a make-to-order direct store delivery environment
??? Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
??? Operational knowledge of SAP EWM, experience in a financial/accounting environment, CPIM certification, and/or Six Sigma project experience would be considered assets for this role.
