Manufacturing Engineer (#25254)

Industrial Engineer

Do you have a background in Industrial Engineering within the automotive industry???

If so we currently have client seeking two Industrial Engineers to join their team on a permanent basis; one junior and one senior.

Our Client is a leading supplier of Automotive Components and Automation Tooling Equipment who supports customers worldwide with leading technology through product design, prototyping, product validation, tool building and a flexible streamlined manufacturing process.

The successful candidate with have 3 to 5 years of working experience as an Industrial Engineer, within the Automotive Industry, and hold a University degree or College diploma in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering. You will have working knowledge of ISO and TS 16949 standards, APQP and PPAP elements and deliverables for manufacturing. You will also have experience with Auto CAD and plant layout, knowledge of GD&T ability to transfer to each stage of the process flow, and experience with PFMEA, DFMEA and MOST an asset.

Primary responsibilities/accountabilities:
??? Champion project activities such as continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
??? Identify and execute solutions related to process flow within the plant by applying manufacturing engineering principles to improve efficiencies such as Pareto, time studies and design experiments
??? Execute, maintain and manage projects for waste reduction and quality enhancement
??? Responsible for the implementation of Corrective Actions
??? Validation of control plans for quality purposes
??? Provide knowledge and guidance for poke yoke and error proofing
??? Perform cost reduction analyses
??? Develop capital budget
??? Responsible for performing capacity, capability and feasibility studies to determine viability of new capital equipment purchases and assist with new product development
??? Recommend, design and implement changes to current work cell, equipment and tooling and gauge designs within predetermined deadlines
??? Assist and provide guidance to the development, design and build of new manufacturing products and processes
??? Provides prototype assistance for fixtures, gauges, and samples and ensures timely transfer of prototype to production group
??? Assist and provide guidance for ECN and PCN to existing systems
??? Provide manufacturing engineering support for new program launches ensuring good standards
??? Develop and maintain BOM's & process routing
??? Maintain plant layout and engineering drawings through the use of Auto CAD
??? Facilitate employee involvement to harness improvement opportunity
??? Assess environmental, ergonomic and hazard aspects of new or modified equipment and processes

Qualifications:
??? Experience working within an ERP system
??? Demonstrated progressive experience with lean manufacturing and value stream & process mapping
??? Basic knowledge of Gauge R&R
??? Usage and understanding of automotive analysis methods; fishbone diagrams, 8D and 5 Why
??? Mechanical and automation aptitude with Robotics, PLC???s, and System Integration
??? Knowledge of Ergonomics and CSA Standards is an asset

Must have:
??? Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
??? Understanding of product launch stages and deliverables
??? Ability to problem solve and motivated by challenges
??? Driven and dynamic team player with relationship building skills
??? Diplomacy, tact, and professionalism when interacting with all team members
??? Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
??? Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment
??? Flexible and creative approach while working in an environment that is dedicated to continuous improvement
