Position Specifics

Position Purpose: Sales Specialists provide the highest level of customer service support to customers where substantial product knowledge and advanced selling skills are critical to success. Sales Specialists assist customers, assess customer needs and guide customer decisions. Specialists are often certified or licensed trades-persons with expert level product, procedural and design knowledge in their area. Associates in this position have significant home improvement project experience and use both experience and knowledge to build customer relationships and drive sales. Specialists must be able to communicate well with others and anticipate customer?s needs regarding products and services. Each associate has the responsibility of providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager On Duty, and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers. Position Responsibilities: We're looking for the type of associates who can tap into their inner orange by: ? Able to use equipment (cutting tools, key cutter, etc.) in own and neighboring departments to assist customers as needed ? Serve as expert on showroom products in given department ? Provide advanced product knowledge of other categories in department to customers ? Explain the steps needed to complete projects and the products needed ? Assist customers with special orders and installed sales ? Promote services offered at the Special Services Desk, Tool Rental, and Pro Desk ? Resolve escalated customer complaints or concerns, if possible ? Maintain current signage in department and current product displays .Work with Inventory Management Team to ensure adequate seasonal inventory stock .Work ad planners to ensure adequate inventory for upcoming advertisements ? Review displays and overheads for safe display/storage of merchandise .Verify that merchandise safety restraints are in place .Immediately correct unsafe conditions or notify Manager on Duty ? Complete specified safety training courses .Use proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safe lifting techniques .Proactively seek knowledge on all products and services offered ? Maintain expert knowledge of all department products, policies and procedures Experience/Knowledge Required: The kind of orange we?re looking for will possess: ? Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends ? Excellent communication skills and customer service skills ? Excellent decision making ability and problem solving skills .2+ years Retail, Specialty Retail, Outside Sales or Trade Experience ? 2+ years? experience as Sales Associate in specific department and completion of all curriculum for that department
