Mortgage Advisor - Kingston
Business Unit Description: Retail Markets provides a full range of financial products and services to almost 11 million personal, small business and wealth clients, as well as investment management services globally to retail and institutional clients. With approximately 28,000 employees, CIBC Retail Markets has a broad distribution network serving clients through more than 1,000 branches, as well as CIBC Wood Gundy offices and President's Choice Financial in-store pavilions. Clients also have 24/7 access to telephone banking, online banking and online brokerage, as well as to Canada's second largest ABM network.
CIBC Mortgages, Lending & Insurance (CMLI) acts as CIBC's manufacturer of mortgage, lending and insurance products. Using a multi-brand/multi-channel strategy, CMLI is responsible for the development, distribution, servicing and profitability of various mortgage brands & distribution channels (CIBC Residential Mortgages, FirstLine Mortgages, PCF Mortgages, Home Loans Canada and Mortgage Center Canada) as well as CIBC Lending & Insurance products (home equity and personal loans, lines of credit, overdrafts and creditor insurance).

As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, guidelines and controls. The incumbent will be personally responsible for compliance with all CIBC regulatory training and governance programs.
Key Accountabilities
. CIBC Mortgage advisors will develop their business plan with the Area Sales Leader to assist in the achievement of the Mortgage Advisor's primary objective of growing and cultivating a referral network that will generate a target of approximately $12,000,000 or 48 units (depending on territory) in CIBC brand mortgage production annually. . CIBC Mortgage Advisors may leverage lead generation tools. . CIBC Mortgage Advisors are responsible for interviewing and taking mortgage applications, obtaining all pertinent personal and credit information, confirming employment, salary and source of down payment and submitting applications with recommendation for approval while actively promoting CIBC Creditor Insurance products. . Establish reciprocal business relationships with external businesses such as real estate firms for the purpose of identifying suitable customer prospects for residential mortgage financing. as well as partnering with Retail Distribution Branches in identifying additional client cross sell opportunities
Requirements: . Candidates possessing retail branch experience, mortgage experience, or having worked in a commissioned sales environment. . Candidates must have strong prospecting ability and a proven track record of working successfully to achieve sales results. . Proven verbal and written communication skills . Strong time management, organizational and planning skills are required. . Candidates must be available to meet clients at times that are convenient for them (i.e. in their home or at their office).
