Quality Assurance Technologist (Continuous Improvement) (#241608)We are seeking an exceptional Quality Technologist for a well established manufacturing client of ours in the Winnipeg area. The position will focus on various Quality and Continuous Improvement functions.
Responsibilities:
-Participate in quality requirement reviews
-Perform in process quality "QA hold" inspections
-Authorize release of product for continued processing and shipment
-Perform quality inspection of incoming materials and release for use in manufacturing
-Monitor quality standards on the shop floor
-Collect and compile data for statistical process control
-Perform root cause analysis of non conforming product and processes
-Perform and assist in troubleshooting of product failures and defects
-Prepare reports on root cause analysis and failure inspections
-Make recommendations for improvements in manufacturing to reduce product defects; when feasible
-Manage quality documentation by project
-Liaise with customer inspectors during customer witness points
-Monitor, test, and approve special process operators
-Conduct internal audits to ISO 9001:2000 standards
-Assures on-going ISO 9001 registration requirements are met
-Calibration of inspection equipment
-Other activities as directed by the Quality Manager
Qualifications:
-C.E.T. status or a Certificate in Quality Management Systems
-3 years quality related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
-Knowledge of quality concepts and tools, statistical techniques, metrology and calibration, inspection and testing methods, quality audits and preventive and corrective action techniques
-Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to build rapport and influence decisions, facilitate problem solving and effectively manage conflict
-Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines
-Knowledge and working experience with ISO 9001:2008
-Microsoft Office, Access, Visio, SAP
