Business Unit Description: Retail Markets provides a full range of financial products and services to almost 11 million personal, small business and wealth clients, as well as investment management services globally to retail and institutional clients. With approximately 28,000 employees, CIBC Retail Markets has a broad distribution network serving clients through more than 1,000 branches, as well as CIBC Wood Gundy offices and President's Choice Financial in-store pavilions. Clients also have 24/7 access to telephone banking, online banking and online brokerage, as well as to Canada's second largest ABM network.
CIBC Mortgages, Lending & Insurance (CMLI) acts as CIBC's manufacturer of mortgage, lending and insurance products. Using a multi-brand/multi-channel strategy, CMLI is responsible for the development, distribution, servicing and profitability of various mortgage brands & distribution channels (CIBC Residential Mortgages, FirstLine Mortgages, PCF Mortgages, Home Loans Canada and Mortgage Center Canada) as well as CIBC Lending & Insurance products (home equity and personal loans, lines of credit, overdrafts and creditor insurance).
Relevant Job Criteria: - There is full time, base plus commission role. - Required to work one evening shift per week 12pm to 8pm.
Job Overview: Purpose of Position:
Mortgage/SBA applications are completed by PCF Call Centre Associates in the three CIBC call centres. Once completed, PCF Mortgage Sales Representatives at CML are responsible for following up with the client and CML's underwriting team to ensure each mortgage/SBA sale closes. This is a significant opportunity for those individuals who have a passion for residential mortgages & SBA's. Major Activities: . Follow up with clients to obtain signed commitment and as required, sell client on the benefits and answer specific questions . Follow up with clients to obtain any necessary documents . Ensure compliance with all of CML guidelines . Work closely with underwriters to ensure mortgage is approved and funded . Offer advice and support to potential clients through needs based selling
Requirements: Knowledge/Skill Requirements: . Well developed mortgage/SBA knowledge and experience in the residential mortgage business, with an understanding of market conditions/trends/mortgage product knowledge and pricing issues. . Mortgage underwriting experience an asset. . Proven Telephone/sales experience in a call center environment . Strong PC skills. Must be comfortable working with windows and Microsoft Office products including Outlook, knowledge of the Internet an asset. . Accurate keyboarding skills with an ability to talk to customers and key information to an on-line system

External Contacts - clients, solicitors, appraisers, real estate agents, 3rd party vendors . Job Challenges/Complexities: Compensation: base salary of $20,000.00, plus commission. Expected earnings are to be approximately $65,000. Working Environment/Tools Required: . Must Haves: . Mortgage Sales and/or Service experience (2 years) . Mortgage Underwriting Knowledge experience (2 years)
