Job Overview: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The position assumes a key supporting role in the day-to-day marketing of the assigned product segment including being heavy involved in the development and execution of all marketing and promotional elements as well as involvement in ongoing analysis, communication, presentations and project management. The individual will be accountable as part of a product segment team, for the goal of maximizing the segment sales, marketing and competitive positioning to achieve various business group objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
. Contributes to the strategic plan for their product segment including marketing strategy, communication strategy and tactical plans. . Key role will be to execute the above strategies, working closely with the senior management team and various internal functional teams . Help in identifying product marketing specific opportunities, working directly key stakeholders to execute relevant tactics. . Oral and written communication - ability to present regular product analysis, briefs/programs/plans to internal teams, and senior management is expected. . Build and maintain an strong level of knowledge on assigned funds and mutual fund categories . Develop and maintain strong relationships with portfolio managers and other investment staff . Communicate effectively with assigned portfolio managers and provide perspective on fund / product performance relative to peer group categories. . Develop key messages and fund positioning to internal sales and marketing groups . Work closely with marketing counterparts to provide portfolio updates and sales ideas to the distribution channels . Support portfolio managers in marketing presentations and communications to internal and external audiences . Build a high level of understanding within the fund peer group and key competitors . Contribute to new product development process ensuring the competitive and strategic positioning of the company's products

. Strong knowledge in the field of mutual fund / managed program product marketing, including principles, practices, processes, procedures, products and services. . Strategic thinker and solid producer with the ability to link product marketing strategies and plans to business objectives. . Consummate professional in dealing with stakeholders, clients and vendors.
2. Project and Program Management
. Strong experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. . Ability to manage multiple projects at one time with a strategic view of overall program and business strategy. . Ability to meet tight delivery timelines. . Develop process enhancements that streamline work where possible.
3. Business Acumen
. Solid knowledge of the full service brokerage and asset management businesses, with a strong understanding of Advisor needs across retail and 3rd party financial advisors. . Firm grasp of market behaviour and economic trends. . Solid understanding of CIBC Asset Management products and services is an asset . Marketing training/experience essential.

Requirements: KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
. 5 + years of Financial Services Investment experience. . Minimum 4 years in a Product Marketing function within Financial Services Investment organization. . Strong analytical skills . Strong understanding of the fundamentals of capital markets . Ability to analyze / interpret / communicate portfolio performance and investment characteristics . Strong written and verbal communications skills . Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Marketing, or Economics . Canadian Securities Course. . Experience building and managing relationships within a matrix organization. . Strong knowledge of Marketing in the Financial Services Investment industry sufficient to analyze detailed concepts and apply these in non-traditional ways. Developed knowledge of the Canadian Mutual Fund Industry. . Well-developed presentation/interactive and written communications skills sufficient to convey both factual and conceptual information. . Ability to creatively modify approaches suited to the circumstances of each problem. . Ability to establish work plans and/or procedures covering a variety of related tasks or routine projects.
