Business Unit Description: CIBC Wealth Management is focused on providing excellence in relationship-based advice, service and product solutions that meet our clients' needs. Job Overview: JOB PURPOSE
The Sales Assistant is accountable for providing administrative support to Investment Advisor(s) (IAs) and providing quality service to clients. Unlicensed Sales Assistants are expected to work toward the IIROC license (formerly IDA - Investment Dealers Association).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Assist Investment Advisor(s) and provide exceptional client service by: . Maintaining positive client relationships . Providing timely and accurate responses to client requests . Efficiently responding to all client requests within one business day . Resolving client complaints professionally and expediently
2. Perform general administrative and operational support for the branch by: . Maintaining compliance standards in client dealings/client files . Having effective technology knowledge and skills . Adhering to compliance requirements . Minimizing commission loss through the elimination of restricted accounts . Closing or transferring accounts to Wood Gundy Investment Centre that are $50K and under . Fostering positive relationships with technology and other support partners
3. Support the accomplishment of the Investment Advisor(s) business goals and objectives with minimal financial loss by: . Applying branch cost saving opportunities where appropriate . Identifying opportunities for potential sales . Processing accurate and timely completion of documentation and order entry . Minimizing office supply and phone costs CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS . This job collaborates regularly with both internal Wood Gundy Branch employees and external clients. . Internal contacts include: Credit, Operations and Compliance departments to obtain/provide information; Marketing/ Economics/ Research/ Library to request market and investment information; Trading floor personnel on a daily basis to provide market and client information. . External contacts include: Other Brokerage firms, Mutual Fund companies, Banks and Trust companies to obtain/ provide information; Existing and prospective clients on a continuous basis to provide investment information, take orders, and respond to enquiries; Lawyers and Accountants on behalf of clients to obtain/ provide information.
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES
. As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls.
AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS
. This job has the authority to liaise with the appropriate internal and external contacts in order to support the Investment Advisor and obtain specified client information for completion of transactions.

Requirements: KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
. In progress of completing the Canadian Securities Course and/or Conduct and Practices Handbook . Knowledge of procedures related to buy/sell offers from clients and completing trade tickets . Current knowledge of daily market activities sufficient to provide/ explain information to clients . Working knowledge of various computer software including word processing, spreadsheet and industry specific software. . Excellent oral communication skills. . General knowledge of the financial industry. . Knowledge of Wood Gundy operations/ practices/ procedures regarding client accounts. . Current knowledge of compliance issues obtained from internal bulletins . Organizational/ administrative skills required to perform activities with varying degrees of priority . Basic understanding of investment portfolios/products
WORKING CONDITIONS:
. This role operates within a normal office environment with little exposure to adverse working conditions . Open concept and may have exposure to noise and distractions . Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, with a requirement for speed and precision.
