Publishing Specialist (Junior QA)(8 month contract)

Business Unit Description:
Retail Markets provides a full range of financial products and services to almost 11 million personal, business and wealth clients, as well as investment management services globally to retail and institutional clients.

CIBC Retail Markets has a broad distribution network serving clients through close to 1,100 branches, as well as CIBC Wood Gundy offices and President's Choice Financial in-store pavilions. Clients also have 24/7 access to telephone banking, online and mobile banking and online brokerage, as well as to Canada's second largest ABM network.

As a key business with CIBC Retail Markets, Distribution Services' mandate is to create an excellent client experience whenever, wherever and however our clients choose to do business with us. Distribution Services is comprised of teams that support the various channels clients use including, telephone banking, ABMs, branch network, online banking, mobile banking and Investor's Edge. In support of the delivery of an integrated client experience, Distribution Services also supports customer care, business controls, frontline training, performance measurement, frontline effectiveness, process engineering, and project management across Retail Markets.

Job Overview:
JOB PURPOSE
The Publishing Specialist provides QA planning and execution support for CIBC eChannels Delivery - ensuring that marketing initiatives and base essential changes that are published to the Online, ABM and Mobile platforms meet client expectations and adhere to defined standards and compliance rules.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Provide User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Post Implementation Verification (PIV / BAT) for marketing, product and application changes with a focus on ensuring channel standards are adhered to, these include:
. Editorial (English, French & Chinese content)
. User Experience & Design
. Development

2. Design and conduct walkthroughs of test cases and test scripts with guidance from the Publishing Lead as required

3. Select and execute test cases required to validate daily change requests

4. Identify, log and retest variances uncovered during test cycles

5. Provide regular testing status updates to Publishing Specialists

6. Regularly attend and contribute to production meetings

7. Assist in the administration of documentation on the team's knowledge repository

8. Create and execute test cases

9. Review business requirement documents, identify risks and gaps

Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
. 2-3 year experience working on Internet projects and applications
. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. (Or applicable work experience)
. Experience with and understanding of HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, and XSL.
. Understanding of W3C standards, and Windows and MacOS interface standards.
. Understanding of QA methodologies.
. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
. Understanding of user experience issues, and Internet design principles.
. Experience validating web pages.
. Previous experience in a financial institution preferred
. Experience and understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS) or Web Content Management Systems (WCM or WCMS).
. Experience or knowledge of Web publishing
. Extensive QA, test case writing and execution skill
. Knowledge of HP QC11 is a must

Must Haves:
. Experience with web publishing and/or development (1 year)
. Experience with HP Quality Centre (1 year)
. QA experience validating web page content (1 year)

Nice to Have:
. Experience with HP Sprinter (1 year)
. Experience with Quick Test Pro (1 year)
. Bilingual language skills (English and French)
. Experience with IBM Rational Policy Tester (1 year)
