Pipeline Engineer - Int/Snr (#220566)

Pipeline Engineers - Int/Snr

Responsibilities:

. Preparation of Pipeline Alignment & Crossing engineering drawing content

. Perform pipeline hydraulic studies and preparation of hydraulic study reports

. Preparation of equipment specifications, cost estimates, drawings, reports relating to pipeline engineering

. Execution of pipeline engineering scope for assigned projects

. Complete Pipeline Alignment & Crossing engineering drawing content and professional sealing of such drawings

. Review and approve final pipeline routing analysis report

. Prepare and approve content of pipeline equipment specifications, particularly for Design Basis Memoranda

. Review equipment technical bid submissions

. Participate in facility hazard review and analysis

. Review pipeline hydraulic studies and related facilities P&IDs

. Coordinate project pipeline engineering team; liaise with project pipeline drafting team

. Coordinate pipeline group activities with other project disciplines

. Work with and mentor junior engineering and other technical staff in the pipeline discipline

. Ensure compliance with project plan and procedures

. Reinforce corporate quality and safety standards

. Implement corporate quality and safety standards into the projects

. Assist with the preparation of engineering work scope and cost estimations when required

. Be familiar with industry standard quality systems and principals

. Willingness to become familiar with corporate policies and procedures and ensure compliance with same

. This position is the lead technical role for the establishment of design specification and the procurement of equipment and piping

Qualification:

. Bachelors (or higher) degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

. Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in at least one Canadian province

. Proven Pipeline Engineering expertise and competency, in particular the installation of pipelines and associated facilities

. Lead engineering role in projects with capital expenditure of $20MM+

. 10-15 years of pipeline design experience

. 5-10 years of consulting engineering experience

. Work experience at a consulting engineering firm

. Work in the downstream oil and gas industry, particularly in Western Canada

. Supervised 5-10 other engineering staff on a project basis

. Experience with Canadian jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations

. Genuine team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team plus other discipline staff

. High level of initiative and ability to complete tasks on schedule and budget

. Excellent attention to detail

. Good problem solving skills

. Strong mentoring skills and desire to encourage junior staff

. Excellent organizational and communication skills

. Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast paced environment
