Technical Service Manager - Materials Handling Equipment (#241485)

SCOPE

The Regional Technical Manager is responsible for the representation / development of Customer Services for Materials Handling within the assigned Region. The role provides a link between Global Technical Services and the Regional Manager.
The role is product focused (Mobile Machines) and concentrates on providing product and application specific support and guidance, help and advice to customers who are concerned about the availability and reliability of their Material Handling equipment.
With regard to the respective professional qualification (function) the customer services are based on needs and NOT based on where the equipment is located.

KEY RESPONSIILITIES INCLUDE:
Market & Sales Support:
-Acting as the contact for the assigned Region(s);
-Promote Material handling Projects & Systems business within Region;
-Ensure local business development;
-Generate RFQs / tenders and perform feasibility check;
-Sell inspections / audits / assessments;
-Sell upgrades / overhauls / rebuilds / refurbishments / lifetime extension programs etc.
-Compile cost calculation, price calculation and tender submission;
-Participate in tender clarification meetings / negotiations;
-Actively supporting the preparation of project execution plans, method statements, desktop studies etc.
-Building strong relationships and networks with the regional and local sales and service personnel.

Market Approach:
-Visiting key customers in conjunction with colleagues from the regional Customer Services team;
-Building strong customer relationships;
-Providing market intelligence by keeping up-to-date in relation to market developments and bench-marking and coordinating data from the market/Region for analysis.

Project Execution Support In:
-Conducting walk-overs, inspections (audits) on materials handling equipment in conjunction with global Customer Services team;
-Processing reports, analysis, recommendations, documentation and proposals based on carried out assessments;
-Providing engineering (desktop) studies, risk analysis, calculations and other technical services with regard to sourcing, logistics or site management to the regional Customer Services team;
-Conducting feasibility checks (technical & commercial) on project execution plans and resource -planning.

Contract & Project Management Support In:
-Managing and controlling expenses within budget including time management and cash management for assigned Customer Services Projects orders;
-Providing regular feedback on project performance and risk management to the Manager Customer Services MH.
