Inspection co-ordinator (#242183)Our client is one of the largest oil and gas EPC in the world with over 47,000 employees worldwide in over 100 countries. They are the leading EPC in fixed price and lump sum work and have grown to over 700 employees in Canada over the last 5 years. They have on office in Calgary which is North America headquarters and are about to open an office in Edmonton and a modular yard. With this expansion in mind they are looking for an Inspection Coordinator to be based out of their Calgary location. The individual will be responsible for coordination of inspection on construction activities for large oil and gas facilities , liaising with outside and third party inspection companies to arrange inspections on welding , foundations, process equipment , and piping to ensure that the construction as per specification. The individual will also be responsible for reviewing the reports from the inspections and making recommendations on how best to proceed forward to ensure over all compliance with code specification as per construction and to ensure the construction is within schedule. The role would be reporting into a Materials Manager and will require some site visits to both the construction sites but also vendor and manufacturer sites to ensure the product. The ideal individual will have at least 5-10 years experience in inspection of oil and gas facilities under construction. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of all areas for inspection such as welding, piping, concrete, foundations, compaction of earthworks, structural steel and process equipment. The candidate can come from an inspection background or a welding background but must have worked for a large EPC on large projects as an inspector in the past. Ideally the candidate will have a very good understanding of both Canadian code but also international codes and will have worked under a fixed price or lump sum model. This role is not so much the hands on site inspections but coordinating inspection companies coming on to site to carry out the assessments and then reviewing the reports as well as making recommendations to ensure compliance to code and the project is completed on time within budget.
