Senior Electrical Designer (#222271)Requirements: . Minimum 10+ years experience . Familiar with regulations, industry codes and standards . Understands standard engineering work planning, scheduling and cost estimating . Understands constructability, operability and maintainability requirements for electrical systems and equipment . Aware of technical issues related to electrical design and is able to discuss with customers and suppliers. . Familiar with procurement processes, including preparation of material requisition and bid evaluation processes. . Experience in oil and gas production and supply facilities, large petrochemical plants or a refinery is preferred . Past experience from power generation, mining, or other heavy industrial sector will also be considered . Ability to work in a multi-discipline team setting, have good communication and analytical/problem solving skills, and be able to work in a schedule driven challenging environment Duties and Responsibilities: . Prepares electrical layout designs of electrical equipment, cable trays, lighting, receptacles, grounding etc. for 3D modeling . Determines cable and raceway requirements . Prepares cable and raceway schedules . Prepares MV/LV motor control schematics, control panel layouts and panel board schedules . Prepares Area Classification Drawings . Familiar with SmartPlant Electrical is an asset . Prepares MTO estimates . Prepares engineering work packages . Reads and extracts electrical information from P&IDs and mechanical equipment load lists . Reviews vendors' documents/drawings
