Sr Bridge Design Engineer (#218638)

Description

Conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of new bridges utilizing pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel and timber components
Inspection, assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges
Load evaluation of existing bridges
Construction Inspection
Project Management
Preparation of detailed reports, technical specifications and professional sealing of design documents
Provide technical engineering support to junior staff
Utilize structural design software for analysis and design
Excellent written and oral communication skills

Requirements:

An engineering degree from a recognized institution (preferably civil-structural)
Professional Engineer designation
Master's Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred
15+ years total experience with a minimum of 5 years in bridge design, rehabilitation and inspection
Ability to work under occasional pressure within tight timeframes
Self-motivated individual possessing strong written and verbal communication skills
Initiative and attention to detail and accuracy
Competency with structural design software
Thorough knowledge of CHBDC and AASHTO design codes
