Instrumentation Designer - Intermediate (#242542)Instrumentation Designers - Immediate - Contract ongoing - Calgary We have an urgent requirement for 3 x Instrumentation Designers with a minimum of 5 years related experience for long term contract role in Calgary. They MUST be proficient in the design of instrumentation wiring using SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) Wiring Module. . The role of the designer is to take the Engineering Design Specifications as prepared by the engineers and technologists and prepare the final construction documents . Typically, this involves 2D CAD, 3D modeling, and SPI wiring, Production of design drawings, conceptual layouts and surveys . Checking of design drawings . Generate installation diagrams, wiring diagrams, location plans, conduit & cable plans. . Maintain project files . Coordinating work with other disciplines Requirements: . Diploma in instrumentation technology from a recognized institution or equivalent work experience . Proficient in the design of instrumentation wiring utilizing Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) Wiring Module . Proficient with 2D AutoCad and/or Microstation . Utilization of P&IDs and plot plans for instrument wiring and locations . Working knowledge of instrumentation commodities, drawing . Requirements and the Canadian Electrical Code . Understanding of schedules and timeframes . Excellent interpersonal and communications skills . Outstanding organizational skills . Accuracy and attention to detail important .
