Process Engineer- Chemical (#242616)

General accountability

To ensure the cohesive flow, efficiency and continuous improvement of the manufacturing facilities through technical expertise and leadership covering all aspects of manufacturing including but not limited to safety issues, environment issues, equipment/replacement, operational and maintenance support, quality control, scheduling and cost control. The process supervisor is responsible for:
Production supervisor relief
Production Supervisor coverage on a Sunday as required
Maintenance supervisor relief
Technical Support
A resource for special projects, eg. Waste minimization, energy efficiency studies
Nature and scope

Specific Accountability
Continually monitor and analyze all areas that can affect product quality, to ensure a proactive approach to quality management
Able to problem solve and troubleshoot process problems
Responsible for all plant formula's standard operating procedures and sop's
Manage filter cloth and dust extraction filter changes including inventory
Monthly completion of environmental scorecard
Conduct all sampling and monitoring as required
Qualification/Education/Experience
Science or engineering Degree preferred
Five years manufacturing experience in the chemical industry (preferably in a supervisory capacity)
Proficient in Microsoft (i.e excel, word and powerpoint)
In depth knowledge of manufacturing unit operations (ie dissolvers, presses, dryers, effluent and wastewater treatment plants). Also experienced in process control systems, maintenance and quality control practice
Self starter who needs minimal supervision. Ability to set own agenda
In a multi task environment can determine, prioritize and achieve objective
