Our QA team is comprised of compact multi-disciplinary teams working on challenging and varied combinations of both project service and operational business. As a QA Specialist you can expect to work with a wide range of operations and project teams, contractors and manufacturers, to work outside of your specialised discipline at times and to develop new skills. Working with the Canadian Natural QA team will enable you to use your quality and technical expertise to ensure code compliance, safe, accurate and high-quality operations, maintenance and project activity.

As the QA Specialist for Static Equipment you will be primarily responsible for providing QA support to ensure the integrity of mechanical static equipment. You will also liaise with other business units to support the implementation and administration of project quality assurance while continuously monitoring programs/procedures.

This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
. Relocation to Calgary or Fort McMurray
. Company Sponsored Fly-In/Fly-Out and Accommodations Program with charter flights from Calgary or Edmonton


. Develop, review and maintain all engineering standards and specifications relating to materials and welding of piping and equipment
. Provide direction and design review of materials for all phases of projects
. Review the inspection and maintenance documents of all equipment and systems in accordance with established safety programs
. Provide guidance and expertise in the utilization of various inspection technologies 
. Implement audit program to measure quality performance of contractors and suppliers
. Conduct compliance audits, both internally and externally, to verify conformance with the quality requirements
. Provide guidance on application of regulatory requirements, industry codes and Horizon standards 
. Assist in the maintenance of a database tracking all quality records and any other regulatory/technical records to support reliability and integrity efforts 
. Resolve day to day QA issues as they arise and report to management on concerns 
. Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement to influence the overall success 
. Provide support, guidance and initiatives under the direction of the Lead, QA 
. Ensure the audit process and the related procedures remain valid and effective

Temporary Assignment Details
Location: Calgary
When: Immediately
Duration: until approximately June 2014
Accommodations: Accommodations provided for non-Calgarian residents

. Typically 10+ years of Oilsands experience with a Diploma, or Degree in an Engineering discipline, or relevant Journeyman certification
. Familiarity with and understanding of:
   o Static equipment such as pressure vessels, exchangers, tanks, and piping
   o Inspection activities and processes as applied to manufacturing facilities and construction projects 
   o API 620/650 
   o ISO Lead Auditor or formal Auditor training 
   o Written work documents and technical standards
   o ABSA, API, National Board, CGSB Certifications and NDT/NDE techniques
   o Alberta Legislation
   o ASME Codes
