The Merchant Ad Planning Process (12 month contract) is responsible to manage the ad planning process from inception to post mortem by conducting a variety of analysis on the overall ad process. The incumbent will work directly with Category Managers and Merchants in the Bakery team and support processes such as ad review, item selection, conflict review /resolution, financial roll up review, ad proofing and DMAP process. They will also act as a liaison between the Pricing and Promotion team and Bakery Merchandising team to support the No Frills, Maxi and Superstore banners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ad Review & Ad proofing
Key Tasks:
. Track ad changes
. Assist with running ad meeting (set agenda, etc.)
. Review ad planner and recommend promotional pricing for ad items using the PET tool
. Populate sale information into ad planner and conduct post ad performance analysis for CD, CM and Merchant
. Approve item selection and follow up on missing information

2. Provide Support to internal customers
Key Tasks:
. Monitor Merch Calendars for flyer layout changes to previously planned ads and communicate changes and recommendations to CM and Merchants
. Update all West information into ad planner
. Coordinate ad positioning with Pricing and Promotion team
. Act as main point of contact for any ad concerns from Pricing and Promotion team
. Coordinate DMAP information with Pricing and Promotion team
. Coordinate Pocket guide information for Bakery.

3. Promo Forecast Model
Key Tasks:
. Manage ad forecast model for Bakery
. Run weekly ad promo forecast report and red flag any financial concerns aligned to budget with Cat Director
. Ensure the integrity of the ad promo forecast report for accuracy of sales growth and weekly margin
. Ensure ad rollup is correct and is aligned to last years ads

4. Manage and maintain Ad Planner
Key Tasks:
. Creation of new quarterly planners & any additional planner enhancements
. Populate Weekly cell allocations
. Run data extract for central merch team & work with team to troubleshoot problems.
. Maintain ad planner costing and retails
. Work with Merchants to ensure ad planner information is accurate
. Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
. 1 to 3 years merchandising experience
. Proven ability to contribute to category plans in-line with corporate strategies
. Good communication and organizational skills
. Proven analytical experience
. Proficient with MS Office (specifically Excel)
