Instructor, Rehabilitation Assistant

Looking for a challenge? The School of Health and Public Safety at SAIT Polytechnic requires an energetic and dynamic Instructor to teach in the Rehabilitation Assistant program. This position is contract from January to April 2014 and the position is required to teach in the Buck Crump building at the Mayland Heights campus.
Participating as a member of the Rehabilitation Assistant instructing team, and reporting to the Academic Chair for Wellness Programs, your responsibilities will include:
- Instructor for Occupational Therapy skills portion of the rehabilitation assistant course
- Coordination of guest speakers and subject matter experts for OT related portions of the program.
- Ensure class/labs any needed equipment are set up for each class/lab
- Evaluate student progress through assignments, exams and lab competencies
- Facilitate student achievement through mentorship
- Contribute in a positive way to maintain a “team environment
- Promote Professionalism and coach students
- Promote and support SAIT Polytechnic’s and the School of Health and Public Safety mission statements, strategic and academic plans.
- Remain current in field
- Other duties as assigned
This is your opportunity to impart your expertise as an Occupational Therapist to our highly motivated students. You will have at least five (5) years of experience working in the rehabilitation field. Preference will be given to candidates with previous supervisory and teaching experience.
Successful candidates must provide proof of qualifications. Only education obtained from an accredited institution will be recognized.
