Junior/Intermediate Project Manager (#266001)
Our client is looking for a Junior/intermediate Project Manager in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will oversee the technical, manufacturing and organization management and financial aspects of the activities and work of project managers and their team.
.Apply WBS methodologies to define the components of the project scope, monitor and identify key project drivers (cost, performance, schedule etc.)
.Effectively plan and schedule project activity definitions, sequencing, duration estimations and milestones
.Control and monitor project schedules, costs, probabilistic costs, risk assessments and contingency plans, to ensure and create budget and cash flow estimates
.Implement cost risk analysis at appropriate intervals and in overall project plans
.Prepare budget and expenditure reports
.Support creation of AFE's and business case models
.Forecast cost for time and materials to influence project decision making
.Develop budgeting, cost monitoring and reporting plans
.Apply cost control procedures and earned value analysis on all projects managed
.Create risk management plans and perform qualitative risk analysis
.Maintain the risk register and risk mitigation strategies for all project risks
.Collaborate with resource managers to acquire resource allocations and staffing requirements for all projects
.Analyze requirements with the project sponsor/customer or senior colleagues, designs the implementation proposal, and evaluates the feasibility aspects of the activities
.Oversee the work of project managers and their project teams
.Consistently meet stakeholder expectations
.Develop a formal communications plan and identify ways communications were successful
.Update and refine the communications plan as required
.Use team building activities, general management skills, reward and recognition systems, collocation, and training for the development of project team
.Have the ability to manage regional and global project teams in a matrix organization, liaison with 3rd party vendors and internal service providers
.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, and 3+ years of work experience (including time working in project environment, with at least 2 years of experience of managing projects)
.Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and programs
.Expertise in project and portfolio management tools such as MS Project, Primavera Clarity etc.
.Strong financial analytical skills
.Individual must have strong interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, organizational skills and the ability to influence others
.Responsible for technical and organizational management, and financial aspects of the activities
.Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
.Proven written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and/or field location personnel where required
.Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills
.Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, team building and influencing skills
.Good understanding of electronics component behaviour and familiarity with electronics schematics and component datasheets
.Strong experience in electrical and electronic assembly methods and product testing
.Strong skills using Windows-based enterprise applications, such as Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor, Altium Foundation, Microsoft Office applications, SAP ERP, etc.
.Certification in project management (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP); New Product Development Professional (NPDP); AgileScrum Master) preferred but not required
.Preferred knowledge and experience of the technical area being managed and an awareness of the business issues, global experience in managing projects preferred
.Ability to read and interpret detailed design drawings and Pipeline Inspection Tool knowledge and/or experience would be an asset
