Underwriting Assistants & Technicians
# of openings:
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be accountable for providing superior service in a clerical and underwriting support role to the Personal Insurance Department.
Gathering background information on new personal business;
Receiving the print and matching to specific files and documents provided by underwriting staff;
Entering and organizing new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations into the personal insurance systems;
Data entry, coding off-system policies, endorsements, forms, letters;
Maintaining electronic logs and account specific spreadsheets;
Receiving print and matching to specific files and documents provided by underwriting staff;
Ordering and reviewing reports;
Performing various mail and filing duties;
Providing backup reception duties;
General office and other duties as required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Strong problem solving abilities.
Completed high school diploma and relevant work experience;
Preference will be given to candidates with a post secondary degree or diploma or willingness to complete a CIP designation;
Strong computer skills;
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in a personal lines underwriting support role.
