Ontario Sales Manager - (Transportation)
Our client, a leading asset based Transportation Company in Canada that serves the North American market for over a quarter century has requested that Mark Krpan of Lock Search Group assist them in finding an Ontario Sales Manager.
Summary of Role:
Working from their headquarters in the Kitchener/Waterloo region and reporting to the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, the Ontario Sales Manager's primary responsibilities will be to drive profitable revenue, manage a sales team with a key focus on developing and executing on strategies and tactics to achieve the organization's sales plan for 2014.
As a previous individual contributor of transportation sales that leveraged a well-defined value based sales process along with current success at managing a sales team, the Ontario Sales Manager will be responsible for the development, improvement and motivation of their sales team in Ontario, while working in a collaborative fashion with key functional departments.
The role requires this individual to get the sales force to 100% of revenue plan using 'back to basics' tactics in terms of how they operate the sales team's productivity, how they create a winning atmosphere that supports the company's culture and that works' closely with the Operations to ensure the clients' needs are met while sustaining profitability for the organization.
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage, recruit, motivate and develop top quality sales professionals Manage an account base
Pursues the achievement of a minimum of 100% of weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals
Create a sense of urgency with the sales team while creating a fun team environment
Manages the sales pipeline process and assist team in closing deals or can close on your own
Monitor industry trends, competitors and market conditions
Establish extensive customer relationships at executive levels with your top accounts
Required Skills & Abilities:
Post-secondary education (MUST HAVE)
Proven ability to coach and develop others to be highly successful
5-8 years of individual hunting and farming sales experience selling various transportation modes (FTL/LTL, intermodal, parcel, Air/Ocean & warehousing) to corporate customers
Demonstrates highly competitive nature, enthusiastic & persistence to drive results
Demonstrated ability to hire and retain top talent
Historically achieves challenging goals, is highly energetic and internally driven
Manages time, priorities and projects with precision and appropriate tools
Confidently networks & builds value-added relationships with senior executives
Influences with multiple approaches, professional & leverages personality style differences
