- Health and Safety Certificate Program from a recognized Community College, work experience equivalency will be considered; - 3 years previous experience in the Occupational Health and Safety sector, preferably in a health care setting; - Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety Legislation; - Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and Ontario Fire Code; - Clear understanding of Emergency Preparedness and Occupational Safety, preferably in a hospital and research environment; -Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); - Knowledge and experience carrying out respiratory fit testing; - Familiarity with the Canadian Standards Association guidelines on respiratory protection and fit testing; - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization; - Excellent presentation skills; - Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, analytical and decision making skills.
- Pursuing Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation an asset; - Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and Ontario Fire Code would be an asset; - A background in Occupational Hygiene would be an asset; - Experience developing a Health & Safety Management System; - Proficiency in speaking and comprehending both English and French (A-).
