Position Description:

MMM is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Transportation Planning Department located at our Ottawa Office. Reporting to the Departmental Manager this position will be responsible for leading a broad range of transportation planning projects including transportation impact assessments, feasibility studies, master plan and area studies, environmental assessments studies, active transportation planning and infrastructure studies, transportation policy studies, supporting municipal and provincial highways preliminary and final design, and long range demand forecasting for all modes of transportation.



Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Comprehensive management and control of all aspects of assigned projects to achieve the Client’s prescribed scope, time, cost and quality objectives through the application of formal project management process, techniques, and procedures;
  • Manage and lead transportation planning studies and master plans, including planning, executing, and controlling the project through all phases from initial feasibility through preliminary design/definition, detailed design, construction, commissioning and validation;
  • Direct and coordinate the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team (internal staff, external consultants, contractors, and suppliers) to achieve the Client’s objectives consistent with the scope of services to be provided;
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and communication with clients, department managers, internal and external leads;
  • Promote a common understanding and commitment to excellence;
  • Manage and direct transportation analysis and operational reviews including impact assessment and analyzing transportation demand patterns, etc.;
  • Develop, prepare and deliver progress reports, proposals, level of effort requirements, study recommendations and documentation, and presentations;
  • Assists with staff development, providing input and recommendations related to staff needs, performance and remuneration;
  • Mentor and supervise junior and intermediate staff
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Post-secondary education in civil engineering or related field from an accredited university;
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience in Transportation Planning including a minimum of 3 years in a Project Management position;
  • Registered or eligible for registration with PEO;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset;
  • Demonstrated experience and success in the role of project coordination;
  • Experience using Synchro capacity analysis software or other traffic simulation software;
  • Experience in understanding traffic micro-simulation would be an asset;
  • Experience using GIS software would be an asset;
  • Excellent communication, report writing, presentation and research skills;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
