Human Resources Manager (#317198)

One of our clients located in east GTA and eastern Ontario is currently looking for an HR Manager. The HR manager is responsible for the full range of HR functions, including labour and employee relations, and providing advice and guidance to employees and managers at two locations. The HR Manager promotes and fosters team work and collaboration. This role works very closely with senior leaders to ensure that HR programs and initiative support business objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.

More precisely, your principal responsibilities will be the following:

- Talent Acquisition and Management: develop recruitment strategies; support hiring managers during the recruitment process; advise and make recommendations to managers; create retention and engagement strategies; oversee the annual performance review process
- Labour Relations: manage grievances, assist with arbitrations and negotiations of collective agreements, attend meetings with union representatives
- Employee Relations: ensure employee relations issues are resolved; advise managers and employees on ESA and legislation; ensure that new policies and procedures are communicated to employees
- Disability Management: oversee STD and LTD's, return to work programs, WSIB claim management
- Compensation & Benefits: ensure all compensation changes are accurate; manage and negotiate contracts with vendors; administer and manage plans
- Management Relations: act as an advisor and consultant to all mangers;; assist with succession planning; design and implement the HR business plan; participate in management meetings
- Performance Management: provide input and guidance on performance issues, coach managers to help them get the most out of their teams, oversee the annual performance review process
- Training and Development: coordinate and facilitate training, manage the training budget
- Other HR functions: policy and program development, communications, health & safety, reporting


Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a unionized manufacturing environment
- University Degree and or college diploma in HR, CHRP designation is an asset
- Experience supporting multiple locations, valid driver's license and vehicle (Note: one of the locations is 2 hours from Toronto)
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and ESA
- Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to influence and negotiate
- Ability to develop trust; build and maintain relationships with all employees
- High level of integrity, straight forward approach and ability to inspire confidence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills
- Detail oriented, highly organized
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic HR plans
- Strong problem solving skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Proficient computer skills: MS Office, HRIS systems
