Human Resources Manager (#318002)

One of our clients in south west Ontario is currently looking for an HR Manager with a strong generalist background and proven leadership skills. You will be providing a full range of HR support to the organization. This is a great opportunity for a business minded HR professional who enjoys managing day to day HR functions and developing executing strategic plans to meet the immediate and future needs of the organization. More precisely, your principal responsibilities will be the following:

- Talent Acquisition: develop recruitment strategies; support hiring managers during the recruitment process; advise and make recommendations to managers
-Talent Management and Development: oversee on boarding and orientation; work with employees and managers on development plans; work with managers to identify high potential employees; create retention and engagement strategies; oversee the annual performance review process
- Employee Relations: ensure that employees' enquires are managed appropriately; communicate new policies and procedures; resolve any employee relations issues; advise managers and employees on ESA and legislation
- Labour Relations: collective agreement interpretation; developing and maintaining relationships with union reps; participate in and lead dispute resolutions
- Compensation & Benefits: ensure all compensation changes are accurate, conduct market research on compensation and make recommendations on compensation rates and plans; ensure all STD and LTD paperwork is completed; work with vendors
- Management Relations: act as an advisor and consultant to all mangers; coach managers to help them get the most out of their teams; assist with succession planning; design and implement the HR business plan; participate in management meetings
- Other responsibilities: ensure that all employee files are properly maintained; develop and update job descriptions; conduct employee surveys and develop action plans; coordinate and facilitate training

- 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years in a management role
- University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources, CHRP designation is an asset
- HR experience in a unionized environment, ideally manufacturing
- Proven leadership skills, ability to develop trust; build and maintain relationships with all employees
- High level of integrity, straight forward approach and ability to inspire confidence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills
- Detail oriented, highly organized
- Experience with compensation and total rewards
- Knowledgeable about ESA and employment legislation
- Strong problem solving skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience with training and development
- Proficient computer skills: MS Office, HRIS systems
