The Opportunity

My West end client is looking for a Project Coordinator who can drive sales and follow through on delivery. Reporting to the Specialty Sales Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of a project including estimating, quoting, preparing shop drawings for approval, purchasing material/products as required, coordinating shipments, installation and resolving issues.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Communication with contractors/site as required throughout the Project
  • Promote sales to existing company clientele, architects and designers as required
  • Maintain positive customer service and vendor relationships
  • Assess client's needs and recommend the appropriate products or services
  • Estimate costs of installing and acquiring product or service
  • Provide product list and estimate for jobs using architectural drawings
  • Coordinate installation of productions if required
  • Proficient in all pertinent areas of the manufacturers quoting system and the Navision Sales Order entry system
  • Visit job sites for inspection of delivered and installed products
  • Visit contractors for plan use and sales promotion
  • Visit architects and designers to update their literature and offer consultant work
  • Manage all aspects of sales contracts
  • Prepare shop drawings and other submittals as required
  • Consult with clients after sale to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
  • Manage outsourcing of installation for cost effectiveness & quality
  • Request quotations from vendors
  • Provide the product list and estimate for jobs using architectural drawings
  • 'Take-off' the quantities, price the quantities and prepare a final quotation to the general contractors bidding on the project
  • Tracing shipment and staging when needed
  • Possess extensive knowledge of all products
  • Cost and budget management
  • Ensure on time delivery as per Project schedule and contractor requirements
  • Ensure products are ordered promptly and accurately
  • Ensure change notices and invoices are processed promptly

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct work experience in a sales and/or project coordination capacity
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Previous commercial construction experience required
  • Experience with division 10 architectural products an asset
  • Experience in project coordination or project management of distributed and/or manufactured products an asset
  • A valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Efficiently handle and administer multiple tasks on concurrently running projects
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical skills
  • Proficient computer skills in industry software to read architectural drawings; experience with AutoCAD an asset
  • Willing to work overtime as required
  • Always represent the Company with integrity in an ethical and legal manner
  • Work safely and responsibly to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
