As the Superintendent - Froth Treatment, you will provide direct input and assistance on all day-to-day operational/maintenance issues within Bitumen Production (BP) and work closely with the BP maintenance team, reliability team, asset integrity team, and other business areas to maximize production and lower operating costs.
This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
. Develop and adhere to yearly budgets, forecasts, and continually track cost per bbls associated with the plants performance (OPEX)
. Assist in the development and adherence to the Sustaining Capital budget/forecast (CAPEX) and ensure allocated funds are completed on budget and on time
. Review all plant improvements and upgrades, and maintain final say in engineering design and installation keeping in mind CNRL's business principles
. Manage the day to day activities of the Bitumen Production facilities as the company's prime representative and assume a lead role in emergency situations and critical work activities
. Liaise with the General Foreman's/Maintenance Leads and provide direction to them in the areas of plant efficiency, safety, training, and in particular, daily plant operations and production
. Maintain a high level of knowledge of all aspects of the operation and demonstrate your expertise for the many processes that take place within the business unit
. Act as the "Champion for Continuous Improvement" advantages and assist in eliminating roadblocks and driving projects to completion in a timely fashion
. Protect the well-being of the plant and the workers by providing and demonstrating the necessary tools and skills required to achieve a world class operation
. Provides leadership and support through experience and certainty of the process to the position
. Mentor and advise direct reports in order to drive consistency throughout the entirety of the business units by maintaining a visible presence in the field, at meetings, and general sit downs
. Certify that the members of the operation team are used effectively and efficiently in order to manage and develop the right people for career advancement within the business
. Establish a plan for attrition and when there is a vacancy, seek out and hire the best candidate to fit the BP operator profile
. Review and evaluate compliance of:
o Operational Procedures
o Job Hazard Analysis
o Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures
. Typically 15+ years of experience in operations, maintenance and/or engineering in oil and gas
. 10+ years of leadership experience in an oil sands production facility
. Degree, Diploma or Technologist certification in a relevant discipline
. Familiarity with and understanding of:
o Leadership practices
