As Construction Project Manager (CPM), you will be responsible for all aspects of project management, including startup, obtaining building permits, preparing tenders, budgets, estimates and construction schedules.
Working with in-house and external construction personnel, you will ensure project construction is executed in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining design integrity.
Reporting to the Vice President of Construction, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Manage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success;
Manage project startup, building permits, and Construction Management process;
Prepare Tender Process, Budgets, Estimates, Construction Schedules, progress and monthly reports;
Establish a Project Charter for each approved project, defining the projects goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, staffing levels, roles and responsibilities, work breakdown structure, milestones, and deliverables;
Conduct cost-benefit analyses, risk analyses, and ROI calculations to determine project feasibility;
Conduct and manage site meetings, RFI's, invoices and control document process;
Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget; procure extra budget funding where necessary;
Oversee the preparation and finalization of contractor/trade contracts, ensuring all issues are resolved and dealt with in a timely manner;
Manage a variety of stakeholders including site superintendents, sub-trades, designers, estimators, and PC's;
Work with the client to identify suitable service offerings on all bid summaries;
Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and create contingency plans to mitigate risk; and
Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures and standard are adhered to at all times, including ensuring that Work Safe Practices are being followed during site visits.
To apply for this role, you will need to have completed one of the following:
Construction or Building Technology Diploma or Engineering Degree; OR
Technical Diploma, Professional Engineer, C.E.T., Gold Seal Constructor or PMP.
Along with these certifications, you will need:
A well-established foundation of industry knowledge is needed for you to succeed in this role. As such, you will need the ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans. Our next CPM will have knowledge of OH&S regulations and related building codes, as well as a solid understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques. In order to qualify, you must also have knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation.
We are searching for a natural leader who is accountable, dependable, has solid ethics, a commendable sense of integrity, and can effectively work in a team environment. You also understand the importance of client satisfaction and take great pride in a job well done.
Using your excellent communication skills, you are able to lead your team towards success while ensuring laws, rules and regulations are followed at all times. You also have advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
