Legal Assistant – Plaintiff Personal Injury
Salary: Up to $47K

The ideal candidate will be working mainly on accident benefits files and will welcome the opportunity to learn and expand their skills. Primary Duties Include:

  • Preparation and editing of correspondence and legal documents (including motion records, pre-trial/mediation memos, pleadings, affidavits of documents, etc.)
  • Organize and request productions and medical documentation from clients 
  • Assist with authorizations, undertakings, discoveries and productions
  • Managing billing and accounting arrangements (including client accounts and invoices)
  • Schedule management – including organizing client meetings, making travel arrangements, maintaining lawyer’s calendar, etc.
  • Opening and closing files
  • Maintaining daily contact with clients
  • Other general duties as required


Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 1+ year of personal injury, accident benefits experience
  • Legal Assistant diploma, plus additional courses an asset
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and all levels of staff
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to work efficiently while managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Exceptional technical skills (including MS Office)
  • Must be extremely flexible to meet the daily needs of the practise
